雲田はるこ原作によるアニメ「昭和元禄落語心中」の第2弾キャストとメインスタッフが、本日2月6日発売のITAN24号（講談社）にて発表された。
八代目有楽亭八雲の若かりし頃・菊比古役は、八代目八雲と同様に石田彰が担当。菊比古と共に落語の道を歩み、後に稀代の天才と称される落語家・助六役は山寺宏一が演じる。そのほか、元芸者で八雲と助六と深い関わりを持つ謎の女性・みよ吉役には林原めぐみ、八代目と助六の師匠にあたる七代目有楽亭八雲役には家中宏、落語評論家で八代目八雲の熱烈なファンでもあるアマケン役には山口勝平がキャスティングされた。
アニメーション制作を担当するのは「ひぐらしのなく頃に」「薄桜鬼」などのスタジオディーン。監督は畠山守、シリーズ構成は熊谷純、キャラクターデザインは細居美恵子が務め、落語監修には落語家・林家しん平を迎える。さらにITAN24号とアニメ公式サイトでは、本編の先行カットも公開された。
3月6日に発売される「昭和元禄落語心中」7巻特装版には、TVアニメ放送に先駆けて、オリジナルアニメDVDが付属。「与太郎篇・前編」と題された本作では、与太郎と憧れの落語家・八雲をはじめとする登場人物や、落語界との出会いが描かれる。
